"For Us, By Us"

As a Senior Life Science Professional in Cancer Research, I currently play a role in contributing to the advancement of medicine that helps patients find hope in a place where no hope can be found.

 

As a Black woman in healthcare, I am well aware of the health inequalities that disrupt the lives of those who look like me.  Historically minorities have been faulted by a medical system that was never designed to include them. Therefore, I've decided to use my passion and knowledge of the industry to provide a solution to an unresolved problem within my community. Thus, OurHealth is born. Being misdiagnosed and rejected care on many occasions I understand the importance of being connected with a provider that shares the same cultural values for a better health outcome. We will never be subjected to another Tuskegee Experiment or Sterilization Project again!

 

My goal is to build OurHealth as a digital platform that will Educate, Empower and Empathize, with the Black and the African diaspora of the Latino communities regardless of their sexual identity or preference. OurHealth will help build culturally competent doctors, that specifically cater to our unique needs for better health outcomes. My community will no longer suffer in silence, this is OurHealth, OurWay!
